Welcome
As your District Attorney, Kate has worked tirelessly to keep criminals off the streets and Warren County residents safe. Kate has a proven record of protecting our community against drug dealers by holding them accountable for selling drugs and offering treatment for non-violent offenders to reduce the demand for drugs on our streets.
Kate has continued fighting for Warren County families by aggressively prosecuting violent felons, securing their convictions and seeking incarceration. Kate strongly supports the use of DNA to fight crime and worked to get the law expanded in 2006 to enhance the use of DNA in criminal investigations and prosecutions.
Kate has been a tireless advocate for our children and spearheaded the creation of a Child Advocacy Center for both Warren and Washington Counties, where children who are physically and sexually abused are able to be interviewed in a child-friendly environment, and she did it at no cost to the locality.
Kate worked with the Adirondack Women’s Bar Association to create a program where victims of domestic violence are able to receive free legal advice from local attorneys to help the victims resolve civil, legal issues so they may move on with their lives. She also organized a graffiti eradication and community beautification effort, working with adult and youth leaders from numerous local organizations to remove graiffiti in our community and sending a clear message of non-tolerance for that destructive conduct . As a community leader, Kate has been very active in promoting breast cancer awareness, publically discussing her own personal challenge and that of her mother in the hope that other women have access to knowledge and early intervention.
